Firstly we’d like to welcome you to Websites for Therapists and thank you for your custom.
We’re keen to get your website up and running for you as quickly as possible. We will get to work on installing and setting up your site for you as soon as you email us the following:
- Your content
- Your preferred email address
- Any images you want adding to your site
- Domain name
As soon as we receive this from you we will get your site up and running within 48-72 working hours, usually much sooner!
So, here is some guidance to help you to get started.
- Your content.
We will add up to 5 pages of content to your WordPress website for you. You will probably want to add a ‘Home’ page, an ‘About you’ page, a page about the type of therapy you offer, a ‘Contact’ page and whatever else you wish to add to your site.
If you are new to the world of websites and you have never written any content for a website before we know that this can feel overwhelming and a little scary to begin with.
The main message to get across is who you are as a therapist. You need to think about how you can showcase your business so it stands out against others and helps to bring new clients to you. We know that a lot of therapists find this hard to do and it can make them feel a little bit ewe! What we’d say to you is that it is important to know your worth and that you are simply showing people who you are and helping to not only bring clients to you, but to bring the right clients to you.
If you get stuck then you may want to take a look at the content on some of the websites we have built for inspiration.
One more thing you may want to add to your site is a Blog. Blogging is a great way to show your knowledge and expertise on specific topics. It also helps with your sites SEO (search engine optimisation).
On top of the content you provide, as standard, we will also ensure that you have a Cookie banner showing to conform with EU regulations as well as adding an SSL certificate so you know your site is secure, very important if you plan on collecting client details or opening an online store. We will also install Yoast, an SEO plug-in which allows you to simply work on your sites SEO to ensure that it is found by search engines such as Google.
2. Your preferred email address
We will set you up a business email address. This must include your website domain name but it can include any word before that. For example, if your domain is www. polarbearsdonteathoney. co.uk, you could add info@ polarbearsdonteathoney. co.uk, enquiries @ polarbearsdonteathoney. co.uk or Julie@ polarbearsdonteathoney. co.uk. p.s. we don’t own that domain name!
3. Any images you want adding to your site
Any content you add to your site must not break any copyright laws, and you are responsible for all the content and images contained on your site. You can use any images that you own such as photographs of your counselling room, your profile picture or any you have taken yourself. You can also download images free to use from sites such as these:
Just make sure that the images you use from any site are royalty free and give you permission to use for commercial use.
You may also want to create your own images/graphics. A great site to use to do this easily and for free is Canva which you can find here. However, if you’d prefer to pay someone to do them for you but you don’t have a big budget then you can use Fiverr where you can order logos and all sorts of design work starting from $5! You can find Fiverr here.
Using images is a great way to make your site look however you want it to feel, whether that be professional or more relaxed and informal.
You must send you images to us in either jpeg or png format. We can’t use images that are contained within a PDF file.

However, you may want to search around to find the best templates for you. It is important that they cover what you offer.
5. Domain name
As you know we don’t provide domain names. You will need to purchase your domain name with a domain name provider. For example you may want to use GoDaddy or 123.reg. Please look and see which domain name provider best suits your needs. Once you have your domain name ready you will need to change your nameservers to the following:
Nameserver 1 – ns1.cloudhosting.co.uk
Nameserver 2 – ns2.cloudhosting.co.uk
If you don’t know how to do this then don’t worry, simply let us know and we will talk you through the process or do it for you. It’s very simple once you know how!
And that’s it! Once you have everything above ready then simply email it all to us at email@example.com. In the subject header, you should write your name followed by ‘website build.’ Also, if your name will appear different on your PayPal payment then you must make us aware of this also.
One we receive this and we have your website up and running we will then email you back and ask you to look at your site and confirm that you are happy with it. If you’d like to make any changes then we will be happy to make these up to 3 times to ensure you have a site you love! We will also send you details to access your new business email, along with login details for your WordPress website so you can log in and update your site at any time.
